He was predeceased by: his parents, Lindell Merrell and Anna Merrell; his parents-in-law, Elbert and Dena Wiesemann; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Jacobs, Kenny and Peggy Wiesemann.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Wiesemann; his children, Aaron, Roderick (Leanne), Brent (Theresa), Kerry Brown (Marty) and Ryan (Stephanie); his grandson Zachary Merrell (Jordan); his children, Kayla Merrell, Megan Brown, Garrett Brown, Lauren, Leah Merrell, Sarah Legg, Taylor Lewis (Shade), Kaitlyn Vandermaiden and Gabriel Vandermaiden; his sister Joan Jacobs; and also, Carter Legg and Maesyn Lewis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
