He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alfred and Bessie Faye Cockrum (Crowder); his daughter Elizabeth Smith; and his brothers, Larry, Junior and Glen Cockrum.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn L. Viles; his children, William Cockrum (Julie) of Glenwood, IA and Rebecca Landkamer (Paul) of Warrensburg, MO; his son-in-law Glenn Smith of Picayune, MS; his brother Vernon "Ray" Cockrum (Juanita) of Centerview, MO; and his sister-in-law Merrilyn Cockrum of Knob Noster, MO. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
