With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Karen Herrmann Shipley (Kirkwood, Missouri), born in Detroit, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Phillip and Edythe Anne Herrmann (Bosak); and her sister Anne Herrmann Bernay. She is survived by: her friend Christopher; her siblings, Paul Herrmann Jr. (Amy) of Brown's Root Beer and Nancy Herrmann Mueller (Scott); her brother-in-law Steve Bernay; and her nieces and nephews, Logan Mueller, Peter Bernay, Sophia Mueller and Clare Bernay. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Her planned three-month visit to Australia in 2020 turned into a year-long stay due to the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Milwaukee Community Sailing Club and Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
