He is survived by: his wife Judy (Pemberton); his children, Amy Christensen (Eric) and Kent (Lissy); his grandchildren, Abby (Elena), Macy, Carter and Reese; and his brothers, Leon (Linda), Roger (Teresa), Ronnie (Betty) and Darrell (Sherry).

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dr. James Layman can be made to Kirkwood Baptist Church, 211 North Woodlawn Ave. Kirkwood, Missouri.
