He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Sweet and Ruby Leone Sweet (Peterson); his son Harold Sweet; his grandson Matt Sweet; and his siblings, Roene Dittmars, Ivalee Hartsock and Charles Sweet.
He is survived by: his former wife Etta Mae Ralston; his wife Charlotte Graham; his children, Raymond Sweet of Kirksville, MO, Michael Sweet and Carol Steiger; and his stepson Paul Otte of South Carolina. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
