She was predeceased by: her parents, William Harnish and Viola Harnish (Shelton); her spouse Lenville Elam; her daughter Gloria Schmickle; and her sisters, Betty Watson and Dolly Watson.
She is survived by: her children, William Elam of Cedar Rapids, IA, Dolly Peek of Kirksville, Earlene Knoche, Michael Gosmyer (Wanda) of Kirksville, Lenda Wachter of Kirksville and Loujean Hindman of Kirksville; and her brother Reverend William Harnish of Cedar Rapids, IA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Memorials in memory of Shirley are suggested to the Salvation Army.
