He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rollie and Florance Mable Smith (Taylor); his wife Norine Wright; his son John M. Smith; and his siblings, Floyd, Mike Smith and Nora Roberts (Smith).
He is survived by: his daughter Susie Smith-Patten of Marceline, MO; his daughter-in-law Zelda Smith (Steele) of Milard, MO; his grandsons, Michael Smith of Kirksville, MO and Bill Smith of Valley Falls, KS; and his great grandchildren, Rachel Pelc (Lance), Cassidy Snow (Marcus), Tyler Smith and Michele Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews.
