Michael Guy Speaks Obituary
Michael Guy Speaks, 72, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his home.
The son of the late Gail and Mildred (Cross) Speaks, he was born June 23, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clell and Albert Speaks, and one sister, Dixie Penicaro. On December 5, 1971, Michael was united in marriage to Verna Clem and to this union two daughters were born.
Michael is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lindsay Speaks of Kirksville, MO, and Tiffany and Jason Bowers of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Gailene Baker of Kirksville, MO; two grandchildren, Drake Bowers and wife Haley of Roeland Park, KS, and Brayten Bowers of Los Angeles, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Michael received his education in the Kirksville public schools. He was an electrician in the Kirksville area finishing his career and retiring from ATSU in 2017.
Michael enjoyed hunting, watching sports, traveling, taking long drives and loved his favorite dog "Bump".
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services that will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
