He was predeceased by: his parents, James Walter and Gladys Ownbey (Pinkerton); his siblings, Lola Belle Bunch, Mary, Marvin and Terry Ownbey; his parents-in-law, Grover and Thelma Payton; and his granddaughter Robin Helm.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Payton; his daughters, Lisa Johnson (Mark) of Kirksville, MO. and Tracy Cupp (Brandt) of Kirksville, MO.; and his grandchildren, Alicia Smith (Matt), Shelby Johnson, Holly Helm, Cody Helm and Tierra Cupp.
