He is survived by: his children, Tammy Johnson (Kevin) of Queen City, Brenda Schindler (Leon) of Cedar Rapids, Kevin Helmick (Christina) of Coleman, Angela Helmick (Yahya Mitchell) of Omaha and Aaron Helmick of Ottumwa, Iowa; his close friend Judy Eckles of California; and his sisters, Donna Smithhart of Ottumwa, Jean McAntire of Cedar Falls, Jan Griffith (LeRoy) of Broken Arrow, Sharon Pattison (Delbert) of Cedar Rapids, Deb Baughman (Mike) of Pulaski, Sara Cregar (Matthew) of Vallejo, Kate Milligan and Andrea Bogert (Kevan) of Drakesville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Norman Funeral Home (402 W Washington St, Lancaster, MO 63548). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
