He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Staggs and Myrtle Staggs (Wilcox); his wife Lora Faye; his son-in-law Dr. James Moeller; and his siblings, Harold, Ennis, Claude, Lydle and Eula.
He is survived by: his children, Rod Staggs (Rhonda) of Overland Park, KS and Jeanne Moeller of Powell, WY; his granddaughters, Jennifer Lechner (Steven), Stefanie Horton (Mike) and Drs; his great grandchildren, Grace, Abera Lechner, Tyler, Bridger, Katie Lynn Horton, Channing, Addison, Bennett Bahr, Dempsey, Deacon and Roman Applegate; and his close friend Georgina Taylor.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Kirksville.
