She was predeceased by: her son Brian H. Sparks of Emerson, MO; her parents, Lester Clause and Edna Clause; and her siblings, Margaret, Virginia and William.

She is survived by: her husband James J. Sparks; and her sons, Dr. James J. Sparks Jr. (Holly) of Yankton, SD, Dr. Robert W. Sparks (Dolores) of Kirksville, MO and Steven W. Sparks (Jeanine) of Wright City, MO.. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren.
