He was predeceased by: his father Gerald Tyler; and his stepfather Wayne Evans. He is survived by: his mother Brenda Evans (Daniels) of Michigan; his sons, Justin Tyler (Jennifer) of Hannibal, MO and Matthew Tyler of Frisco, TX; his half-brother Todd Tyler (Lisa); his sister Michelle Byard (Gary); and his grandchildren, Nevaeh Tyler, Kloe Tyler, Kathryn Tyler, Nickolas Tyler and Camryn Tyler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
