He was predeceased by: his parents, Benny Leroy and Emma Lou Hays; and his nephew Lucas Cole Grinde. He is survived by: his spouse Jessalyn Jutton Hays; his children, Aaron Franklin Hays of Overland Park, KS and Jessye Marie Hays Thomas (Daniel) of Louisville, KY; his siblings, Carol Hays Byars (Larry) of Camdenton and Larry Hays (Carol) of Kirksville; and his grandchildren, Kole Pope, Harper Hays, Matthew Thomas, Mason Hays and Alexander Thomas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and can be sent to the funeral home.
