He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ivan and Esther Conkin Kumm (Ledford); his former wife Charlotte Crnic; his brother Gary Dean Conkin; and his stepfather Arthur Kumm.

He is survived by: his fiancée Susan Branscom of Kirksville, MO; his sister Artis Ball (Richard) of Kirksville, MO; and his siblings-in-law, Charles A Crnic II, Thomas Crnic, Madonna Conkin, Angie Havermale, Marsha Crnic and Tereza Robinson (Kent). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
