Though Betty Sue may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Betty Sue touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Ellis and Isabelle Ware (Young); and her husband Bill Bennett. She is survived by: her sons, Greg Leaton (Sheila) of West Virginia, Douglas Smith of Kirksville and Jerry Smith (Michealene) of Norco, California; and her sister Mary Lou Bowzer (Jerry) of St. Charles, Missouri.. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home (2 W 5th St, Green City, MO 63545). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Price Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family, and can be made payable to Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home.
