She was predeceased by: her parents, David McCollum and Mary Ethel McCollum (Hefner); her husband James Eldon Gillespie; her grandson Austin Chambers; her children-in-law, Sharon Gillespie and John Tompkins; and her siblings, John, Wilbur, Wendell of Malcom, D. L., Lenore, Rowena, Ruth, Helen, Mary and Elma.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Gillespie (Tammy), Karen Gillespie of Marietta, GA, Kathy Darnell of King City, MO, Terri Gillespie of Independence, MO and Judy Chambers (Dennis) of Savannah, MO; her grandchildren, Jordan Chambers (Alacey), Brett Chambers (Katy) and Shelby Dudley; her great grandchildren, Bristol, Saylor and A. J.; and her siblings-in-law, Victor Gene Gillespie (Joyce) and Lola Mae Harryman (Porter). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
