He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Shannon and Mildred Shannon (Rice); his siblings, David Shannon and Patricia Jo Kleinman; his sister-in-law Sandra Shannon; and his great grandchild Madison Friesz.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie June Minks; his children, James O. Shannon, Jr. (Kim) of Keytesville, MO, Scott Shannon (Belinda) of Keytesville, MO, Rhonda Friesz (Donald) of Keytesville, MO, Kimberly Huckabey (Tracy) of Keytesville, MO and Dawn Shannon of Palm Bay, FL; his brothers, Marvin Shannon (Sara) of Keytesville, Bob Shannon of Keytesville, MO and Donald Shannon (Nancy) of Independence, MO; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Minks (Charlotte) of Kansas City, MO and Roberta Taylor of Blue Springs, MO. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Summerville Funeral Home - Salisbury (601 US-24, Salisbury, MO 65281). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Cemetery Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
