He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon Wathen and Edna Wathen; and his siblings, Denver Wathen of Kansas City, Bernice Davis of Lawson and Larry Wathen of Lathrop.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Manville Wathen; his children, Sheri Daugherty of Kansas City and Brian Wathen of Lathrop; his grandchildren, Haley Velasquez of Kearney, Abigail Dimitroff of Joplin, Zachary Wathen of Lathrop and Olivia Daugherty of Kansas City; and his great grandchild Zoe Velasquez.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Northern Hills Baptist Church (17211 NE 180th St, Holt, MO 64048). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
