He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lee "Bill" and Mary Ross (Williams) of Virginia; and his brother David "Dave" Lee Ross. He is survived by: his wife Michelle D. Mansell of Orrick; his children, Brian Ross (Annie) of Kansas City and Jamie Luppes (John) of Liberty; his granddaughter Carlee Luppes; and his sister-in-law Barbara Ross of Richmond.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cancer Center at University of Kansas Hospital.
