She was predeceased by: her parents, Clement Eugene Lee Young and Norma Arzelia Young. She is survived by: her sons, Jason Hawkins (Chareka) of Lee's Summit, MO and James Hawkins of Raytown, MO.; her grandchildren, JaNiya Hawkins of Michigan City, MS, James Hawkins of Michigan City, MS, Mason Hawkins of Lee's Summit, MO, Jackson Hawkins of Kansas City, MO and Braxton Hawkins of Lee's Summit, MO; and her sister Marie "Skip" Overbey of Saint Louis, MO. She is also survived by four nieces, one nephew, a host of cousins, and special friends.
