He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Slater and Ruth Slater (Hepperle); his brother James Slater; and his son Kyle Slater. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his grandsons, Alexander Bezek (Kitty Goldsby), Gabriel Bezek and Michael Bezek (Summer Baxley); and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Slater, Barbara Johnson, Margaret Kensinger (Bill), Donna Yeager (Chris), Gloria Jaros (Sharon Brown) and John Johnson (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and best friends.
A rosary was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the St. Elizabeth Church (2 E 75th St, Kansas City, MO 64114). Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the St. Elizabeth Parish (2 E 75th St, Kansas City, MO 64114). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
