Michael Birkel Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fay Birkel (McLaughlin) and Gerald Birkel. He is survived by: his daughter Rachel Susann (Ryan) of Grain Valley; his wife Carol Ann Haug of Axtell, Kan.; his children, Lisa Rohr (Michael) of St. Louis, Tim Birkel (Lori) of Bettendorf, Matt Birkel (Mary) of Mission and Brad Birkel (Kristen) of Overland Park; his grandchildren, Katie, Anna, Andrew Rohr, Ben, Brayton, Aubrey Birkel, Clayton, Max, Dylan Birkel, Allison, Ella, Ruby Birkel, Nora and Jackson Small; his brothers, Ed Birkel (Deb) of Omaha, Neb. and Pat Birkel (Alma) of Hurricane; and his siblings-in-law, Arlie Haug (Kan) of Axtell and Connie Haug-Johnson (Coale) of Omaha, Neb..

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Wooldrige Center at St. Therese (7277 MO-9, Kansas City, MO 64152). The military honors was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at St. Therese parish.
