It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Heiman of Kansas City, Missouri, born in Atchison, Kansas, who passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marie Hessel and William Hessel; her husband Harold; and her son John. She is survived by: her children, Bill (JoAnn) of Lenexa, KS, Terry (Rebby) of Kansas City, MO, Greg (Linda) of Kansas City, MO and Kevin (Deb) of Junction City, KS.; her grandchildren, Stephanie Ridgway (Bruce), Paul Heiman, Amy Gamble-Martin (Victor), Benjamin Heiman, Sean Heiman, Erin Staton (David), Ian Heiman, Zach Heiman, Jessie LeMay (Austin), Dylan Heiman and Rose Heiman; and her great grandchildren, Kinsley Ridgway, Damien Heiman and Ewan Gamble.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Avila University (http://www.avila.edu.) or St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

“Bill, Terry, Greg, and Kevin, I am sorry to hear of Aunt Mary Elizabeth's death. I knew she had been in a nursing home the last few years. She was always fun to be around. As a child I remember her giving us bracelets an things that she would find for girls. I remember your house in Western Hills and the really cool Christmas lights you had! I also remember visiting the twins as newborns at your house by St. Thomas More. She was a fun person to be around and will be missed. Bobbie Hessel Knopk”
