He was predeceased by: his parents, Verdis J. Robinson, and Marvin S. Robinson, Sr.. He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Tiffany Estell, Theodore Coggs (Tamecia), Daron Fowler (James), Krystin Betts, Farryn Dickson (Charles) and Savanna Frierson; his siblings, Harold Dwight (Peggy), Tyzsu Coggs, Carmen Frierson (Henry) and DeLisa Fowler-Nunley; his nephew Henry Jr.; his aunt Barbara Young; and his uncles, Samuel Young and Eddie Robinson (Debbie). He is also survived by grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends.

Marvin also served as a member on the Board of Economic Opportunity Foundation.
