It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mabel LaVerne Spainhower of Kansas City, Missouri, born in Hatfield, Missouri, who passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Mabel farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mabel is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Hass and Theo Hass; and her husbands, Mac Spainhower and Richard Houk. She is survived by: her children, Joe of Milwaukie, OR, Sally of Davenport, IA and Sara (Tom) of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 10 (soon to be 11) great-grandchildren.
