Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Laura Jane Pegram (Kansas City, Missouri), born in Saint Joseph, Missouri, who passed away at the age of 72, on February 13, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis Joe and Mary Jane Simpson; her grandparents, John, Eunice Jackson, Albert and Velma Simpson; her brother-in-law Randy Bland; her children, Larry Askew (Kimberly), Chad Askew (Kelly), Kristen Aragon (Anthony), Mary Niedens and John Pegram; her grandchildren, Denise Rocha (Juan), Reagan Askew, Emily Moreira, Isaac Moreira, Eli Niedens, Ian Niedens, Amelia "Milly" Askew, Evelyn "Evie" Askew, Grace Niedens, Gage Jamison, Levi Niedens, Penelope "Poppy" Askew and Brielle Aragon; and her great grandchild Elena Rocha.
She is survived by: her friend Dorthy Purtle; her siblings, Glenda Marrs, Iris Bland, Becky Johanson (Rodney) and Willis Dean Simpson (Elaine); and her former husbands, Larry Askew Sr. and Ted Pegram. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gregory Hills Church (7020 James A Reed Rd, Kansas City, MO 64133). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Mount Moriah Cemetery (10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, a cause close to our hearts.
