He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaudensia Nankya and Daudi Katekere. He is survived by: his wife Speciosa Matovu; his siblings, Anna Namuyiga, Caroline Nayiga Kazigo, Ancilla Nabukenya Mpungu and Mathias Mutaawe; his son Ambrose Matovu; and his grandchildren, Dr. Grace Namayanja-Kaye, Dr. Lillian Nagaddya, Judith Namakula Matovu, Thomas Mayanja, Mathias Bunjo, Richard Lubega, Kaloli Lwanga, Tereza Nabukeera, Jane Nakanwaagi, Rose Nanjobe, Rose Nalubega and Kattuga Lawrence. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A rosary was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM and on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (8510 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114). A wake was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
