With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Lee Higgs of Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on July 25, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Baby Boy Higgs; his parents, Laconia Cornelius Higgs and Eunice Higgs Simmons; and his sisters, Betty and Trudy Higgs.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Higgs; his children, Tessa Higgs and Byron Higgs (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Jaelyn, Harrison, Jackson Higgs, Camille, Harris and DeLanie Moore; and his siblings, Grace Hornbeak (Charles), Laconia Higgs Jr. (Lynnie), Bernice Brown (Walter), Ruth "Birdie" Stephens, Ima Moss (Paul), Paul Higgs (Magdelyn), Robert Higgs, Donald Higgs and Judy Higgs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, "adopted" grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
