He was predeceased by: his mother Eula Belle Griffin; and his brothers, Michael Woods, William Darnell Griffin and Oliver Eugene Griffin. He is survived by: his children, Donald W. Black II of Houston, Texas. and Daryan E. Black of Houston, Texas.; his grandchildren, Sir C. Black and Sevyn C. Black; and his siblings, Margaret Henderson and LaTonia Pickens (Glen).
