He was predeceased by: his parents, Carnell Ward and Bernia Ward (Estell); and his sisters, Beverly Ward and Bernice Colbert. He is survived by: his siblings, Ivory Ward (Francine) of Lawton, Rev. J. W. Ward (Minnie) of Independence, Missouri., Vivian Wilson (Bobby) of Junction City, Bette Sims (Sammie) of Shawnee, Brenda Young of Roanoke and Virginia; and his nephew Samuel Sims of Overland Park. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Penwell-Gabel - Olathe Chapel (14275 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS 66062). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
