He is survived by: his children, Catasha Diaz of Olathe, Shawrice Winton of Kansas City, Jade Pitman of Olathe and Machalia Bates of Jacksonville, Florida.; his grandchildren, Ariana, Brielle Diaz, Christian Harris and Davion Winton; his sisters, Cheryl Bates of Fredericksburg, Stephanie Carter-Williams (Damon) of Topeka and Monica Carter of Emporia, Kansas.; his nieces and nephews, Shawn (Michelle), Kristi, JaMon, Mariah, Nathanial Carter-Williams, Damisha Williams, Preston, Brittany, Trevon Bates and JaLen Carter; his great-nephew Antonio; and his great-nieces, Tae, Zaria, Mahkiya and Malaya.
