With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Phyllis Smith of Kahoka, Missouri, born in Columbus, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Phyllis left this world on January 8, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Edward and Valeta Inone McElwain (Hamilton); her in-laws, LeRoy and Kathleen Smith; her granddaughter Paige Smith; and her brother-in-law Vincent Funck.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Martin Smith (Crystal) of Kahoka, MO. and Stacy Lynne Smith of Kahoka, MO.; her husband Rodney; her daughter Leslie Austin (Jeremy) of Gorin, MO.; her grandchildren, Grace Smith, Margaret Smith, Henry Smith and Bode Austin; her sisters, Jeanna Zahm (Clark) of Columbus, KS. and Sandra Kobets (Kathy) of Overland Park, KS.; her sister-in-law Jean Funck of St Charles, MO.; and also Bryan Gosney. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wilson and Triplett Funeral Home (975 E Main St, Kahoka, MO 63445). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in memory of Phyllis Kay Smith are suggested to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, St Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital, and may be left at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO.
