He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Kirchner and Louise Kirchner (Harper); his son Andrew Kirchner; his father-in-law Henry O'Day; his stepfather-in-law Lester Dalton; and his brothers-in-law, Raymond Terrill, Bill Baker, Gary O'Day and Gale O'Day.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kirchner; his children, Danny Kirchner of Kahoka and Angie Kirchner of Kahoka; his granddaughter Hanna Kirchner of Kahoka; his mother-in-law Vanetta Dalton of Kahoka; and his sisters, Alice Terrill of Kansas City, Evelyn Baker of Raymore and Dorothy Clough (Harold) of Kansas City.
