He was predeceased by: his parents, Lue Smith and Bonnie Lucile Smith (Eddington); his son Billy Smith; and his brother-in-law Steve Smith Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Sherian Smith of Joplin; his children, Bonnie Henning (Carl Sr.) of Joplin and Butch Smith (Charlotte) of Joplin; his sisters, Marilyn Connely (Dale) of Joplin, Carolyn Copher (Larry) of Webb City and Sharon Smith of Cassville; his grandchildren, Carl Henning (Jennifer) of Joplin, Brandon Henning (Angela) of Joplin and Hailey Walker (Tyler) of Webb City; his great grandchildren, Cory, Trace, Alaina, Scarlett, Phoenix, Colson, Camden, Elliana and Amelia; and his great great grandchildren, Bryson, Easton and Lola.
