He was predeceased by: his parents, John Helms and Bertha Helms (Turner); and his siblings, Albert, Johnny Helms and Lawanda Helms.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Viles (Charles) of Gladstone, MO, Greg Helms (Susan) and Jeff Helms; and his siblings, Ted Helms, Loretta Fanning of Chicago, IL and Eileen Helms. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
