He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer Horace Compton and Julia Ethel Lamb Compton; his sister Ida Mae Browning; his former wives, Janice A. Kinser and Bobbie Joan Giltner; his stepson-in-law Chuck Land; and his stepgrandson Tyler Land.
He is survived by: his wife Fronsie Keller Compton; his daughters, Cathy L. Scott (Monroe Rosebrough) and Karen D. Zwingle (Allen); his grandchildren, Justin Scott (Cheyenne), Ryan Scott (Deja) and Bethany Mercer (James); his great grandchildren, Ameliya, Murphie Scott and Elise Mercer; his stepchildren, Carrie Giltner of Lutz, FL, Lisa Land, Denisa Simpson (Lance) and Joe Hughes (Tami); his stepgrandchildren, Zac, Ashley, Darci, Katie, Michael, Carter and Brandon; and his niece Shirley Boone.
