It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanetta Gertrude King (Joplin, Missouri), who passed away on January 12, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George William Toops and Gertrude Toops (Shelton); her former husbands, Don Allen and Herman Simpson; her son Mark Simpson; and her sisters, Cora Kope, Ruth Halliday, Leatha Tibergein, Alice Marley and Betty Stogsdill.
She is survived by: her husband David King; her children, Donald Allen, Mickale Allen (Pam), Perry Simpson and Shell Simpson (Donna); her stepchildren, Connie King-Kesler and Johnny King; her grandchildren, Mickale Allen, Maggie Johnson, Melody Warkentin, Jonathon Simpson, Amber Simpson-Beck (TJ), Jake Simpson (Breana), Keith Simpson (Kammie), Preston Wilson (Jo Guess) and Alicia Wilson (Deric Miller); and her great grandchildren, Joshua, Kaidan, Zebby, Grayson, Carter Joe, Barryn, Rayne, Kerra, Shane, Isis and Alphonse. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
