He was predeceased by: his nephew William "Buffy" Hammer; and his siblings, Charles Cunningham, Tami Shawn Birka, Larry Birka and John Birka.
He is survived by: his husband Ronald Barnfather; his son Jayson Barnfather of Philan; his granddaughters, Alyson Barnfather of Virginia Beach and Shanynn Iverson (Christian) of Guam; his great grandchild Sylys Munoz; his siblings, Christina Rodriguez (Dom) of Santa Clarita, Darla Severn of San Diego and Gary Hachtel of Boulder, Colorado; his nieces and nephews, Karen Boyd (Steve) of Webb City, Candice Butera (Roy) of Castaic, Kira Hatchel, Ray Severn, Greg Severn, Kerry Severn and Jordon Hatchel; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Mariah Elise Butera, Stephanie Taylor (Brenton), Kayla Boyd, Cruz Michael Dominic Butera and Travis Boyd (Jodi); and also Bob Elledge of Joplin. He is also survived by other great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many extended family members and friends.
