She is survived by: her children, Benjamin Bates, Jr. of Springfield, Jeffery Bates of Joplin, Jennifer Waterman of Joplin, Kevin Bates of Joplin and Mark Bates; and her sister Mattie Boyd of Joplin. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
