It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Smith (Joplin, Missouri), born in Hutchinson, Kansas, who passed away on August 6, 2021, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilman 'Gene Smith and Virgie Danley; and his stepfather Clarence Danley. He is survived by: his wife Janie Starchman Doty; and his children, Wilman 'Gene" Smith of Joplin, Jeremy Dean Doty of Joplin, Janie Smith of Joplin, Tammy Bevins (George) of Joplin, Stephanie Stapleton (Dave) of Joplin, Pam Smith of Joplin, Debbie, Rona, Shawna, Rita and Ed. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and other extended family.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers to send donation to Joplin Humane Society.
