He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Schleisman and Mary Johnson Schleisman; and his sister Jean Wright. He is survived by: his wife Johann McCann Schleisman; his children, Randy Schleisman (Ann) of Nixa, Missouri and Joyce Schleisman of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Ivey Zoeller (Ian) of Greenwood, Allison Schleisman, Matthew Schleisman and Katie Parker of Portland, Oregon; and his siblings, Paul Schleisman (Verlene), Marian Schachtner, Donna Schreirer and Dorothy Hall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Lion's Club.
