He was predeceased by: his parents, E. E. Dilts and Olive Dilts; and his siblings, Glenn Dilts, John Dilts, Frank Dilts, Marcella Snyder and Alverda Saul.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie E. Dilts of Joplin, MO; his children, Rhonda Walton of Edmond, OK, Denise Hinkle (Sam Hinkle) of Warsaw, MO and Dennis Dilts (Joyce Dilts) of Joplin, MO.; and his siblings, Carl Dilts of Lima, OH and Suetta Dilts-Santiago of Miami, FL.. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
