He is survived by: his parents, Jack Messner and Theba Messner (Turnbull) of Joplin; his wife Janet Messner of Joplin; his children, Misha Johnson of Joplin, Michael Messner of Jackson, MI and Shannon Hale (Craig) of Columbus, KS; his siblings, Margaret Campbell (Ron) of Joplin, Tim Messner of Oronogo, Frank Messner (Shonna) of Carl Junction, Susan Smith (Gregg) of Joplin and Karen Perry (Don) of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Ashlyn Griffberg of Joplin, Mc'Kayla Schaffer of Jackson, MI, Nicholas VanEpps of Jackson, MI, Adrianna VanEpps of Jackson, MI and Brady Hale of Columbus, KS; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel Sanders, Michael Springborn Jr., Charlotte Walker and Aiden Walker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
