He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Fix and June Fix (Mitchell); his sister Dorothy Rader; and his brother-in-law Darrell Taylor. He is survived by: his in-laws, Dr. Kent Taylor (Marilyn) of Joplin and Geraldine Taylor of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and his nieces and nephews, Kent Taylor (Amy), Lacey Bingaman (James), John Z. Taylor (Vinala) and Matthew E. Taylor (Daisey) of Atlanta, Georgia.
