It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Newton of Joplin, Missouri, born in Gladewater, Texas, who passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, I. D. Newton and Lorene Newton (Lykins); his sister Norma McBee; his granddaughter Nichole Pearish; his brother Jack Newton; and his great grandchild Peter Zuraw.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Campbell of Joplin; his children, Rebecca Newton of Joplin, Timothy Newton (Sonda) of Chattanooga, TN, Jennifer Wardlow (Mike) of Joplin and Nicholas Newton (Deonna) of Joplin; and his grandchildren, Mason Zuraw of Joplin, Alexander Zuraw of Joplin, Benjamin Wardlow of Joplin, Nathan Wardlow of Joplin, Sarah Newton of Joplin, James Newton of Joplin and Natalie Newton of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
