She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Galyon and Thelma Galyon (Riseling); and her husband John T. Mattes. She is survived by: her children, Malaine Ballard (Tim Patterson) of Joplin and Chris Mattes of Springfield, MO; and her granddaughter Carlee Ballard of Joplin.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of Parker Mortuary.
