“Jane and I are cousins. My Grandma Mae (Church) Newell was her Aunt. Years ago, my folks would take us to visit the old Church ranch, and Jane (then called "Janey") would show us city kids the exciting mountain life. She had absolutely no fear. We followed her on horseback, jumped into hay bales, and slept under the stars. I'm sure she thought we were sissies, but she was always kind. In later yeaes, I only saw her a few times, but was priviledged to meet her family at the last Church reunion.”
