He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Metz, Sr. and Dorothy Young Shockley; his wife Beatrice L. Baker Metz (Bea); and his sister Dr. Florence I. Metz. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Metz (Lois) of Joplin and Philip Metz (Sue) of Joplin.
