Hugh touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hills and Mildred Hills (Hines); and his sisters, Wanda Kopf and Darlene Hills. He is survived by: his wife Emma Sue Leatherwood; his children, Conni Lipe (Ron) of Joplin, Cathy Kidwell (Joe) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Thomas Hills (Kristan) of Joplin; his grandchildren, Aaron Lipe (Alexis), Emily Lipe, Cole Kidwell (Lauren), Dylan Hills and Tanner Hills; and his great grandchildren, Vivian, Griffin and Maggie.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery (415 N St Louis Ave, Joplin, MO 64802).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary in honor of Hugh.
